Analysis of Language Style in the Novel Cinta di Dalam Gelas by Andrea Hirata

This study aims to explain the function of language style based on direct and indirect meaning found in novel entitled Cinta di Dalam Gelas by Andrea Hirata. Analysis is chosen find out author's characteristics understand why author tends use certain words or expressions their literary works. The research method used a type descriptive-qualitative with stylistic approach. data collection reading text repeatedly, then writing evidence containing source. technique analyzing using finding data, reducing displaying according types style, describing result providing statements from theory that used. this shows consists two kinds, namely rhetorical figurative style. Rhetorical languages composed Alliteration, Assonance, Rhetoric, Pleonasm, Paradox, Hyperbole, Litotes. Meanwhile, crafted Association, Metaphor, Metonymy, Irony, Sarcasm.
